TEXT MESSAGE LEADS TO THREAT INVESTIGATION

Smartphones make it easier for us to communicate with each other, but they also may make it easier to get in trouble with the law.

The Brenham Police Department is investigating a terroristic threat made via text message at 1am Monday morning.  The threat was received by a female in the 300 block of Clayton Drive on her cell phone from someone she was associated with.  No arrests have been made in the case.

In other activity, Brenham Police received a report of a theft of a table and chairs from Ernie’s Restaurant at 100 North Baylor Street.  The theft occurred sometime between May 1st and July 29th but was only discovered and reported on Tuesday.  The table and 2 chairs are valued at less than $500.

The Brenham Police are also investigating a case of family violence assault in the 1200 block of South Austin Street.  In that case a female received minor injuries to her hands and feet.  Reportedly a glass door was slammed by her husband and the glass shattered, cutting her hands and feet.  No arrests have been made at this time.
