THE BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS BUSY MONDAY

  

Monday was a busy day for the Brenham Fire Department.

On Monday at around 4:45am, the Brenham Fire Department responded to 807 W. Third St., Wheeler Dorm at Blinn College, for an automatic fire alarm. Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD along with Blinn PD determined the alarm was possibly activated due to the weather in the area.

At around 5:30am, BFD responded to 406 Cottonwood, Brenham Rest Home, for an automatic fire alarm.  Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD determined the alarm was possibly activated due to the weather in the area and the power outages in the area.

At 5:30am, BFD responded to 1104 Carlee Dr., Christ Lutheran Day School, for an automatic fire alarm.  Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD determined the alarm was possibly activated due to the weather in the area and the power outages in the area.

Also around 530 am BFD responded to 4005 Old Independence Rd. for a smell of smoke inside the structure.  Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD could not find any smoke or a smell of smoke.  The resident believed the structure was possibly struck by lightning, but BFD could not find any smoke or fire damage.

Around 7 an, the BFD responded to 1104 Carlee Dr., Christ Lutheran Day School, for an automatic fire alarm.  Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD determined the alarm was possibly activated due to the weather in the area and the power outages in the area.

Also around 7 am, the BFD responded to 406 Cottonwood, Brenham Rest home, for an automatic fire alarm.  While en route BFD was canceled by the Alarm Company, false alarm.

At approximately 5:10 pm, the BFD responded to 9000 FM 390 East for a possible water rescue.  Upon arrival in the area BFD could not find a vehicle that needed rescue.  There was a boat near the location with a tarp on it that may have been mistaken for a vehicle, but no rescue was needed.

And this morning around 4 am, the BFD responded to 555 US Highway 290 West, Holiday Inn Express, for an automatic fire alarm.  Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD determined that burnt food in the oven activated the alarm and the hotel personnel already reset the alarm.
