THIELEMANN – WELLS HONORED AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

  

Two people were honored with the “You Make a Difference” award at last night’s (Thursday’s) Brenham School Board meeting.  Dr. Heather Thielemann and Reverend Randy Wells were presented with the award for their contributions and service to the staff and students of BISD.  Dr. Thielemann is the current president of the Game Changers organization in Brenham and is credited with bringing that organization to the district.  Reverend Wells is the executive director of Faith Mission in Brenham and has been very active in the athletic programs in the district.

Also recognized at the meeting were the members of the High School swim team who competed in the State swim meet: Hudson Smith, Mac Naylor, Todd Jahns and Jacob Pyle.  The four placed fifth at the meet in the 400 Freestyle relay and Smith won both the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 breaststroke events.

Coach Sarah Flisowski introduced to the school board the members of the Brenham Belles Dance Team.  The Belles recently competed in the Houston Regionals at DeKaney High School and took home a number of awards.

Also at last night’s meeting, the board accepted donations from 2 organizations.  The Brenham Elks lodge donated $4,565 to purchase Chromebook computers for the Middle Schools Life Skills classes.  The Junior High PTO presented the board with a check for $3,000.  That donation will be used to purchase additional security cameras for the Junior High School.
