THIRTEEN SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

A Somerville woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges in 21st District Court.

36-year old Jeanette Kathleen Maxwell was arrested by Washington County Sheriff’s deputies during a traffic stop back on May 21st of this year.

Maxwell plead guilty to Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, which is a First-Degree Felony.

A Brenham man was also sentenced to prison time for a similar charge.

45-year old Kevin Wayne Lampe pleaded guilty to Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Lampe was arrested June 10th following a traffic accident.  During the police department’s investigation of the accident, they found methamphetamine and the prescription drug Adderall.

Lampe was sentenced to six years in prison.

48-year old Byron Eugene Chatman of Navasota was sentenced to four years in prison for Credit Card Abused of the Elderly – a Third Degree Felony.

Chatman was arrested in June, for allegedly stealing a credit card belonging to an elderly Brenham woman.

He was also charged with Burglary of a Habitation.

57-year old Michael Len Walker of Brenham was sentenced to four years in prison after his probation was revoked.

Walker was arrested in January of 2013 during a local sweep of convicted sex offenders.  Walker was not living at the address he had given authorities.  He was charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

He had been placed on five years’ probation – which was revoked.

28-year old Joshua Wayne Wall was fined $500 an placed on four years’ probation for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  Wall was also ordered to perform 300 hours of community service and ordered to attend Batterers Intervention.

24-year old Christopher Jefferson of Brenham had his 2014 probation revoked for Credit Card Abuse of the Elderly.  Jefferson was sentenced to 42 months in prison and ordered to pay $486 in restitution.

24-year old Mervonte Minifield of Houston was sentenced to two three-year prison terms for Engaging in Organized Retail Theft $1500-to-$20,000 and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

39-year old Detra Latay Mitchell of Brenham was sentenced to three years in prison for Theft of Less than $2500 with two or more Previous Convictions.

23-year old Blake Edward Robinson of Brenham sentenced to three years in prison for Failure to Stop and Render Aid.

46-year old William Wayne Greer of Gonzales was sentenced to a year in jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

26-year old Rene Martina Baca of Giddings was sentenced to seven months in jail for Theft between $2,500-and-$30,000.  Baca must also pay $4000 in restitution.

35-year old Nekeisha Upshaw of Brenham was placed on eight years’ probation for Theft from the Elderly – Between $100,000-and-$200,000.  Upshaw was also ordered to perform 250 hours of Community Service and ordered not to work as a caretaker.

And, 53-year old Leticia Henderson Felknor of Brenham was placed on five years’ probation for Tampering with a Government Record.  Felknor must also perform 200 hours of Community Service restitution.
