  1. The state needs to also look at the CPS and APS because so many cases have been reported to them but they dismiss them. If someone sees something wrong their own people dismisses it. The is pure neglect. Involuntary man Slaughter.

  2. Unlessed u work with mhmr residents u don’t know employee go through when u deal with 8 residents and what kind problems they have u k unlessed u been there u don,t know how hard it is .

    1. I do work with them. It’s not hard to keep up with 10. You have to care about them. Not just for the check

  3. The family did not file any charges, the state needed someone to blame for their lack of training, the lady that’s 34 had no knowledge of the resident being in there, she worked in another department in which she was in charge of checking the vehicle to make sure it was no damage, she don’t deserve this and it’s wrong ,this is a issue with the company not the employees, this is not the state first rodeo it’s been plenty incidents just like this out there, may god be with them

  4. Sounds to me like this case was way over charged by the DA’s office, hence the low bond. Was this unfortunate woman murdered, or was this negligent homicide? I don’t recall reading where Mrs. Parrish’s death was malicious, willful or premeditated in nature. This will be an interesting case to follow.

    1. If in the course of committing a felony you kill someone or your actions result it someone’s death, the charge is murder. Called “felony murder” because another felony is the reason for the mudrder charge, its not as severe as First Degree or Capital Murder, in which the intent was to kill. Example) if you are running from the police in your car, a felony, and hit somebody crossing the street, you didnt intend kill them. The charge though will be Felony Murder because it happened in the commission of another felony. Punishment is nowhere close to a normal murder charge, but the legislation has made it clear that if you commit a felony that results in someone’s death, Texas will hold you even more accountable than just gross negligence. In this case, neglect of a handicapped person in your care is a felony on its own, and a person died as a result, hence the charge.

      1. Then why is it that you don’t see murder charges filed against parents that leave their children locked up in a hot car and they die? A quick google search shows that most of these type cases are charged with first-degree felony injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. I just wonder how this case makes the leap to murder? I guess that there is a special law regarding negligence toward handicapped people? Based on the story, her age was 51 so she wouldn’t be considered elderly.

        Anyway, tragic loss of life.

    2. That was very well said Old Timer. I don’t think the S.O.’s office even has a clue what the real charge will be, but the sad thing is if they are falsely accused of one or the other and its not the correct charge it could be thrown out of court all together.
I guess let’s wait another few months to see how this plays out.
      Great work all law enforcement!!

      1. No Bond, I just read this on KWHI today.

” Also heard in the District Court were requests for Bond Reductions for two of the individuals recently indicted and arrested for Felony Murder. The Court reduced the bonds on Sylvia Pratt and Lacreshia Miles from $75,000 to personal recognizance bonds allowing for their immediate release without a surety from a bondsman. ”

After reading all the comments, it’s apparent there is much more to this story.

        1. Yep. The elected judges allowed the former District Judge, a known extreme liberal, to sit on the bench as a visiting judge apparently. Then 2 people charged with murder walked out of jail with paying a dime. Go figure.

  5. They left a person on a van that could not get out by themself. The lady could not get in or out of the van without help. Just like a baby. They left her. I hope the state of Texas checks out the other deaths. Some not even reported.

  6. I think everyone involved in getting this family some closure for the moment. I’m also not a fan of the $75,000 bonds set for the three murder suspects. So if they have $7,500 they walk the streets… Just don’t make sense!!
The murder charges should be No Bond!!

  7. It seems odd that the Washington County Sheriffs Dept. phone system went down the exact day that Quanell X showed up to represent one of the accused individuals. Sounds like a clever way to dodge the media to me.

    Just saying.

    1. You can take off the tinfoil hat. The SO’s phone issue was made known early this morning, well before any of this.

If you want to dig into a conspiracy, start with the decision makers in charge of the phones… and it isn’t the Sheriff.

        1. Hi, I sent a reply but it has not been posted as this one will probably not also but I just wanted you to know that I have seen your post. I guess I can’t really comment on my opinion of what you said or it will not get posted, but just know you have my support. My brother is Glenn who was struck by the Golf Cart and died shortly after from his injuries.
