THREE PEOPLE INJURED IN GRIMES COUNTY COLLISION

  

A major traffic collision sent three people, including a young girl, to the hospital in Grimes County Wednesday afternoon.

Three people near Carlos had to be airlifted to a Houston hospital after a collision on Highway 30 and FM 244.

Reports say a Ford Explorer  SUVwas headed south on FM 244 when it collided with an 18-wheeler truck pulling a mobile home on Highway 30.

The accident investigation shows that  the the 18-wheeler hit the SUV causing it to crash into a pickup truck.

The driver of the Explorer, his wife, and young granddaughter were all injured.  The grandparents were taken by ambulance to the St. Joseph’s Medical Center. The young girl, who was in a booster seat,  was airlifted to Houston’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.

  1. TXDOT has scheduled to build an overpass at this intersection on Hwy 30 to avoid this very kind of accident. It won’t be completed soon enough. The same braintrust at TXDOT has scheduled “removal” of the overpass on Hwy 36 N in Brenham which now “prevents” the same kind of accident from happening. Go figure!
