TIRE & RIMS THEFT THWARTED
An early-morning theft of tires was averted Monday, when a Brenham man started his vehicle by remote.
Just after 5 a.m., Officer Jonathan Phipps responded to the 200 block of Meadowbrook Lane.
The caller said someone had attempted to steal his tires and rims from his vehicle but were apparently scared off when he started his car remotely.
The suspects were able to take lug nuts and a floor jack.
The incident is under investigation.
