TOMBALL MAN INDICTED FOR BRENHAM MURDER

A Tomball man has been indicted on a murder charge by the 21st Grand Jury in Washington County.

21-year old Nicholas Royal Porter has been charged in the shooting death of 31-year old Ernest Trevino Sr.

Trevino was discovered with a single gunshot wound to his chest at his home in the 6400 block of Hummingbird Lane in Brenham back on April 10th.  He died a short time later at a nearby hospital.

Porter was arrested without incident.

Mike Vela (Washington Co. Jail)

Also indicted in Tuesday’s session of the Grand Jury was former Somerville High School teacher and coach Mike Christopher Vela.

Vela, the former head basketball coach at Somerville, was arrested back on January 23rd of this year amid allegations involving a 15-year old student.

Vela was indicted on one charge of Sexual Assault of a Child and three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

The Grand Jury also indicted:

28-year old Trenton Howard of Brenham on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

22-year old Michael Angelo Gonzales of Brenham for Assault of a Public Servant.

19-year old Micha Christian Eckert of Houston on three counts of Forgery.

21-year old Deon Demus of DeSoto on a charge of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.

27-year old Patricia Ann Guien of Brenham for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger.

26-year old Terrence Wayne Burns Sr. of Brenham on two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

And six people were indicted on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance: 29-year old Michael Ray Hooks of Brenham; 24-year old Roderick Payne of Brenham; 46-year old Larry W. Sears of Austin; 25-year old Tessa Ina Stewart of Waller; 24-year Panya Ladella Toney of Prairie View; and 29-year old Patrick Doyle Willis of Georgetown.
