TOOTSIE TOMANETZ OF SNOW’S BBQ FEATURED IN NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY “CHEF’S TABLE”

  

The pitmaster for a famous barbecue joint in Lexington is featured in the newest season of a Netflix documentary food series.

The first episode of the seventh season of “Chef’s Table”, which premiered Wednesday, focused on Tootsie Tomanetz of Snow’s BBQ.  The veteran pitmaster has worked in barbecue for over 50 years, and has worked the pits at Snow’s BBQ alongside owner Kerry Bexley since 2003.

Tomanetz is a two-time semifinalist for the James Beard Award, given to culinary professionals around the nation.  In 2018, she was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame.

The restaurant has earned recognition from barbecue lovers in Texas and beyond, with Southern Living ranking it the second best barbecue restaurant in the South in 2019.  Texas Monthly gave the restaurant the top spot in Texas in 2017, with readers giving it the same honor in 2019.

The new season of “Chef’s Table” will also feature episodes on barbecue restaurants and chefs in South Carolina, Mexico, and Australia.  You can view the trailer for the new season below.
