TORNADO WATCH EXTENDED; TORNADO WARNING AND FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR AREA COUNTIES

  

The National Weather Service has extended the Tornado WATCH issued this morning to 7pm this evening including the following counties in the area: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette Grimes, Waller and Washington Counties.

A Tornado WARNING has been issued for Burleson and Brazos Counties until 1:45p,

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 10pm this evening through Saturday afternoon and includes the following counties in the area: Burleson, Brazos, Washington, Grimes, Colorado and Austin Counties.

Heavy rainfall is expected tonight as thunderstorm activity in central Texas moves into southeast Texas due to an upper level   disturbance. Heavy rainfall could start as early as this   afternoon if thunderstorm activity over central Texas moves   northeast towards the Brazos Valley.

The watch may need to be adjusted earlier for those areas should this occur.
