TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO COCAINE BUST

  

A Tuesday afternoon traffic stop led to the arrest of a 23-year old man on numerous charges.

Brenham police officer Kevin Mertz recognized the man driving on West Main near Dixie Street at 2:46pm Tuesday.  He knew the driver, Garrett Todd Sales did not have a valid driver’s license so he stopped him.

Sales appeared to be very nervous and he saw what could be termed as drug paraphernalia.

That prompted a probable cause search that found what field tested positive for cocaine.

Sales was arrested for possession of cocaine, driving with an invalid license with previous convictions,  and drug paraphernalia.
