TRAIN HITS CAR IN BRYAN

  

No one was injured after a train smashed into a car in Downtown Bryan late Tuesday night.

It happened at the intersection of 27th Street and Sims Avenue. just before 11:00 p.m.

According to Bryan Police, the vehicle got stuck on the tracks, but the people inside the car were able to escape in time, but the train couldn't stop in time to avoid ramming into the car.

A number of intersections in the Downtown area were blocked into Wednesday morning by the stopped train.

Union Pacific was notified of the crash and was asked to stop trains along that route.
