TRUCK DRIVER IN CUSTODY AFTER STANDOFF NEAR B/CS

The Houston-area driver of a semi-truck is undergoing a mental health evaluation following an incident this weekend on Highway 6, north of Bryan/College Station.

Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Yezak says the truck driver stopped on the side of the Highway 6 in Robertson County near the Brazos County line, and told an off-duty paramedic that an armed man was inside the cab of his truck and was threatening to kill him.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and shut down the highway, but it was later determined that there was nobody else inside the truck.

Yezak says the driver, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody and is undergoing evaluation.
