KBTX-TV in Bryan is reporting that former Brenham Police Chief, Craig Goodman, may have resigned amid controversy.

Goodman submitted his sudden resignation late last year, citing personal reasons.  But KBTX is reporting that Goodman’s separation agreement has sent up—in their words, “red flags”.

Documents obtained from the city by the TV station say that Goodman's resignation may have been forced.

The settlement agreement says there were "Bonafide disputes and controversies" between the city and Goodman. It also ordered him to never apply for employment within the city again.

According to Channel 3, the agreement says the city 'agrees to destroy all administrative investigation documents and records related' to the chief's conduct at the earliest date permitted by law.

Those documents should be public record until then. KBTX says they requested a copy on May 9th but has still not received them.

The Brenham city attorneys say they need permission from the State Attorney General in Austin to release or conceal what they consider to be confidential information.

No timeline has been given of when the documents will be released.
