TWO 2018 STATE CAMPAIGNS ANNOUNCED

Two State Campaigns have been announced for the 2018 elections, with the first coming Saturday in Round Rock.

Former Democratic nominee for Lt. Gov. Mike Collier has issued a challenge against Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

Collier first went for the position in 2014 against Republican Glenn Hager, and lost. A Democrat has not won a statewide office in Texas since 1994.

While some conservatives say Patrick may challenge Gov. Greg Abbot for the GOP primary, Patrick has insisted he will seek re-election, making him that race’s running favorite.

The grandson of former President George H.W. Bush and nephew of George W. Bush, George P. Bush has announce he will seek re-election as the Texas Land Commissioner for next year. It’s a little known but powerful agency.

His campaign was revealed this morning on his website, and through email to supporters.

  1. Is anyone else upset that Patrick is thinking about challenging Abbott in the GOP primary?
