  1. It’s all because of the road surface in that one section. It’s Tx dot that has failed to do regular maintance to road surface

  2. That is AT LEASTE the sixth or seventh truck to go off the road in that very spot within the past 10 months or so, something needs to be done there before someone wakes up with a truck in there house.

  3. **How about the injuries anyone know or heard from those in both accidents?
That’s what is important here! If your a “Brenhamite” or have lived in the community you are very aware that some things never change and just a lot of hot air blowing referring to all this complaints from folks that will find something to complain about no matter what the topic is!
Please stay positive even if your not happy so our little town keeps on moving on.
    Thanks for updates.

  4. Obviously, the construction and added traffic light has done nothing to alleviate accidents at this interchange. We only wasted taxpayers money to implement a “solution” that is anything BUT. An overpass and not a traffic light should have been constructed in this area. When TxDOT stops trying to tell locals what to do with their roadways, we’ll all be better off.

    1. THAT WAS A TOTAL WASTE TO MONEY, SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPENT ON THE 290 AUSTIN CLOVERLEAF

    2. The first accident was at 10:13 am and I was a witness & my vehicle was damaged from the power line. When the 18 wheeler got to the low spot on the road, he hydroplaned and went straight for the open field next to the pink house. It was a miracle he was not hurt, didn’t hit the house or other cars! It was not where the overpass was removed & light was put in or where the construction is. I do hate the new light & agree it should have been an overpass.

    3. If you were aware of what happened it had nothing to do with the lights at the intersection. It had to do with wet road ways and cars hydroplaning. That is a drive problem NOT a TXDOT problem.

  5. That is the 4th semi truck that has crashed on that same property since January. I don’t think that is coincidence.

    1. Fact is, where the accidents have happened are almost a quarter mile past the North Park St. intersection and unrelated to the construction as it isn’t close. Not a taxpayers waste at all in my opinion, something needed to be done and it’s working pretty well, just need better drivers.

      1. you never take out an overpass to put in a light, you take out a light to put in an overpass, duhhhhh!
