According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, on December 23, his office conducted an investigation into a burglary of a residence located near the 7000 block of State Highway 36 North.  Items reported stolen included jewelry, power tools, and firearms.  The owner of the property provided sufficient information that could identify all stolen items, if recovered.

Investigators learned that a witness observed two individuals, in a vehicle, around the property the day of the burglary.   The suspects were observed walking around the back of the residence where they gained entry through a back door, according to the witness.

Through investigative methods, as well as witness accounts, Sergeant Investigator Clay Bosse identified the suspects as 36 year old Kendahl Marie Main and 43 year old Hector Javier Lozano, both of Brenham.  Sergeant Bosse located both suspects at a local hotel where they were living. Main was found to have an outstanding local warrant and was transported to the Washington County Jail.

Investigators located a vehicle belonging to Main parked at the front of the hotel matching the description of the vehicle seen parked at the victim’s residence.  Inside the vehicle were numerous firearms matching the description of those reported stolen from the victim’s residence.  After obtaining a search warrant, the firearms were seized and taken into evidence.

Main and Lozano were each charged with Burglary of a Habitation, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and four counts of Theft of a Firearm.  Both have prior criminal histories and remain in the Washington County Jail with bonds totaling $325,000 .00 for each defendant.

  1. I’m glad they caught these two (2). They have been stealing alot from the this community over the past few years. Let’s get them off the streets and behind bars for an extended period of time so either they get help or the become rehabilitated.

  2. Glad to hear this. At least two are caught. Hope our pride and joy gets the rest of the them. Be safe to our law enforcement.
