TWO BASTROP WOMEN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

A Tuesday morning traffic stop for a defective brake light led to the arrest of two Bastrop women on drug charges.

Officer David Dudenhoeffer stopped an older model pick up truck just after nine Tuesday morning on an eastbound frontage road of highway 290.

Dudenhoeffer thought the driver and passenger were acting too nervous for the type of stop and asked if they had any illegal drugs.  The passenger said she had some methamphetamines in her undergarments.  The officer called in a female sheriff’s deputy to conduct a search.  The search found just over eight grams of meth on 22-year old Tawana Kay Whited of Bastrop.  She also had a pipe commonly used to smoke drugs and a check found she was also wanted for a parole violation.

The driver, Realwyn Ann Burch, also 22 of Bastrop had a small amount of marijuana in her possession and was arrested for that.
