TWO DEAD IN WEIMAR ACCIDENT

Two people are dead and 10 others injured in a bus crash Wednesday afternoon in Weimar.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate-10 at Mile Marker 682.

The bus, which was carrying migrant tobacco workers from Mexico to North Carolina, crashed into the back of a flatbed trailer, triggering a chain-reaction.

The driver of the bus, 31-year old Miguel Angel Tobalina-Gonzalez, and a passenger on the bus, 34-year old Roman Juan Domicillio were pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals in Columbus and LaGrange.

The Eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed for over three hours.

DPS records show the bus was operated by Turimex—a Laredo-based company with several locations in Houston.
