TWO JUVENILES ARRESTED FOR PARK RESTROOM FIRES

Two juvenile boys, ages 14 and 15 were arrested Wednesday for starting the restroom and concession stand fire at Henderson Park Saturday night.

Brenham Fire Marshal Alan Finke says the two were apprehended with the help of police detectives and the Brenham PD’s school resource officers.

The two boys were sent to a juvenile detention facility in Rockdale after a juvenile court hearing Wednesday.

Brenham fire fighters were called to the scene of a fire at the restrooms and concession stand at Henderson Park just before 9 Saturday night.  The fire caused significant damage to the structure.

Finke thinks the boys were mostly ‘thrill seekers’ but says it was clear they intended to do extensive damage to the building.

Brenham fire fighters battled another blaze inside one of the restrooms in Jackson Street Park Sunday afternoon.  That fire did not spread but did do a good deal of smoke damage.  Finke says he cannot link the two boys to this fire right now.
