TWO MEN DEAD IN COLLEGE STATION SHOOTING

Two men were fatally shot on Sunday morning in a College Station apartment complex.

Police have identified the men as Brysen Jamal Rhodes, 20, from Wortham, Texas and Jack Lopez, 20, from Rosenburg, Texas. Both men were found dead in the foyer of the apartment complex building located in the 1100 block of Luther Street near FM 2818 and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.

Police responded to the University Trails Apartments for a report of assault with gunshots fired. When officers arrived, they found both men lying in the foyer with gunshot wounds. When they entered the residence, they found another man with gunshot wounds in his stomach and legs. His identity has not yet been released.

Authorities say they believe Rhodes and at least one other man went to the apartment to buy drugs or commit a robbery. When Lopez and Rhodes met outside the apartment, they argued and it ended with gunshots fired at both men, as well as Lopez’s roommate.

Police are still looking for the man that accompanied Rhodes. Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
