TWO STREETS SCHEDULED FOR RECONSTRUCTION BEGINNING NEXT WEEK

  

The City of Brenham will be reconstructing two streets in the South-West area of town over the next few weeks.  Brenham Street Department will be reconstructing West Chauncy Street from Faulkner to Key and Franklin Street from West Lubbock to West Chauncy.  Reconstruction will begin Tuesday and last for approximately three weeks. Reconstruction of the roadway will be done in phases throughout this time period and crews will be working on the roadway between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.  Access to the roadway will be limited while construction is underway and crews will work with residents to get access to their homes.

This reconstruction process will involve tilling up the existing roadway, grading the sub-base and adding bulk cement to stabilize the roadway before asphalt paving is laid down.  The city reminds residents in the area that dusty conditions are expected during construction, especially when cement is added to the sub-base.  Residents in the construction area are also asked to park all vehicles in driveways or off of the roadways between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Any questions can be directed to the City of Brenham Street Department at 979-251-1982.
