TWO TEAMS SUCCEED IN BHS COMPUTER SCIENCE SHARK TANK PROJECT

Our first annual BHS Computer Science Shark Tank project was a success with $3300 raised in scholarship money for the students.  The students presented their projects to a panel of judges from the community.  2 teams finished within tenths of each other in the final standings and both teams will be receiving a share of the scholarship money.

Team Mouthpeace

Team MouthPeace, Chase Martin and Ben Hart, produced 3D printed mouthpieces for band.  They demonstrated that the mouthpieces were functional at a fraction of the cost of traditional mouthpieces and could be customized to be produced in different colors and modified to produce different sound qualities.

Team Signum Workshop

The Signum Workshop team of Zach Taylor and Zeb McCorkle came up with an online solution for producing and grading computer programming assignments.  On Signum Workshop, a teacher can create accounts for his/her students and assign packets of programming projects to the students.  The students then submit their solutions and get instant feedback and even hints if their solution is incorrect.

We would like to publicly thank all of our sponsors and judges.  Our judges were:  Russell Hall, John Deans, John Wick, Dave Redden, Lindi Braddock, and Robbie Gail Charette.  The sponsors of the event were:  Coldwell Banker Properties Unlimited, Hall Construction, Charette Law, Central Texas Drones, Bank of Brenham, Dave Redden, David Chisolm, Kerr Taylor, Robert Stark, and Clifford Brisbin.
