TXDOT RESURFACING WORK TO BEGIN TODAY

A $17.3 million seal-coating project that will include several roads in Brenham started today (Monday).

The projects are part of TXDOT’s resurfacing plans this year.

Work inside the Brenham city limits includes US 290, from the 290 Loop to Chappell Hill Street, and West Alamo and West Main to the Westwood area.

While work is scheduled to begin today, TXDOT spokesman Bobby Colwell says the Brenham work won’t begin until later.

“It will be a while before we get to US 290 because there are 14 roads that will be sealed in Washington County” says Colwell.

Roadways that are a part of the project include: FM 2621, FM 109, FM 390, FM 2447, FM 1371, FM 1155, FM 912, FM 2502, FM 577 (Blue Bell Road) , FM 594, Highway 237 and Park Road 12 at Washington on the Brazos.

A 10.5 mile segment of Highway 36 North to the Burleson County line will also be seal-coated.

This $17.3 million dollar seal coat project is contracted to Newman and Kenge Paving Company Incorporated.
