UNIQUE EVENT COMING TO BARNHILL CENTER

A unique event combining Texas history with tips to manage your organization is coming to the Barnhill Center at historic Simon Theater in Downtown Brenham this month.

On Wednesday, February 21st, the Texas Independence Trail Region will kick off the workshop with “A breakfast with Colonel William B. Travis”, a hero of the Alamo. Attendees will hear about the future development of the Alamo and its grounds from Bryan Preston, Director of Communications for the Texas General Land Office. Key figures from three of the region’s historic sites will later hold a panel discussion featuring Bill Irwin, the complex supervisor for the San Jacinto Battleground and Monument, and the Battleship Texas, Scott McMahon, Director of Presidio La Bahia, and Jon Failor, Lead Interpreter and Park Ranger for Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site.

A highlight of the workshop is nationally recognized speaker Alysia Cook, principal of Opportunity Strategies LLC. Cook will present tips to better handle today’s challenges in managing organizations for success. Another panel includes Texas Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO Sarah Page, Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives CEO Aaron Cox, and Texas Historical Commission Executive Director Mark Wolfe. The group will attempt to “Predict the Future” for Texas historic sites.

Registration information for the Texian Rally Workshop on February 21st at the Barnhill Center can be found at www.txindependencetrail.com.
