A community forum this Friday will feature a high-ranking administrator with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Johnie L. Jones III, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Rural Development Mission Area at the USDA, will speak at the forum scheduled for Friday from 10-11 a.m. at Cannery Kitchen, 314 E. Alamo St.
The forum is sponsored by Faith Mission. Rev. Randy Wells of Faith Mission says the USDA impacts rural areas in a major way…
Jones received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics from Prairie View A&M.
Jones has some ties to the area…including a close relationship with Rev. Alvin Lark and Dr. Wash Jones, wh are both with Brenham’s St.John’s AME Church.
Wells says the USDA deals with a number of issues that greatly impact local life…
