VETERANS HONORED SATURDAY
Washington County paid tribute to local veterans Saturday—Pearl Harbor Day.
Clarence Gerke, of Memorial Oaks Chapel, worked with downtown merchants on the memorial for the veterans of World War Two.
The commemoration of the ‘Day that will live in infamy’ was being presented in conjunction with the Downtown Christmas Stroll.
Gerke says while all veterans were invited, they wanted to pay a special tribute to the veterans of the Second World War.
Gerke says dozens of families and friends of the veterans made it a very special gathering.
Washington County Veterans Service Officer Kenneth Mueller served as the master of ceremonies.
