VOTER REGISTRATION SOARS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

Tuesday was a busy day in Washington County as voters came out to register for the upcoming General Election.VOTE FEATURE

October 11th was the final day for residents to register to vote. Washington County Clerk, Beth Rothermel says, says on that day alone 172 people registered. Rothermel says that number is the most she and others working with voter registration have seen during a single day and believes it could be a record turn-out for the County.

During the month of October, Washington County saw 416 new voters added to the rolls, with 110 address changes, and 12 name changes.

At this time, anyone registering as a new voter in Washington County will not be eligible to vote a full ballot on November 8th.  However if someone has moved into the County and failed to make the registration deadline, they may be eligible to vote a Limited Ballot, during Early Voting only, provided they can verify their registration in another county.
