WALLER CO. JUDGE GIVES MAN PROBATION AFTER KILLING FRIEND

A family is outraged after a Judge in Waller County gave their son’s killer probation on Wednesday.

Christopher Ellison pleaded guilty to manslaughter after stabbing Brayon Molden to death in October of 2014. Ellison and Molden were reportedly friends when the altercation took place. Ellison went on the run after killing Molden, but turned himself in two days later.

The Moldens say they were in shock when they heard Waller County Judge Albert McCaig sentence Ellison to 10 years of probation.

The circumstances of the case led prosecutors to pursue a manslaughter charge instead of murder. However, prosecutors did request that Ellison receive the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

W.K. Diepraam, the First District Attorney in Waller County, says part of the judge’s explanation of his decision has to do with the fillet knife used to kill Brayon. The judge found the knife was not a deadly weapon. Diepraam says the judge ruled the knife wasn’t a deadly weapon so that he could give Ellison probation, which is a quirk in Texas law.

Brayon’s family says he was a junior at Prairie View A&M with aspirations of becoming a teacher and a coach.

  1. That don’t sound right. What’s up with Waller county. Dead prisoners. Missing guns probation for stabbing.

  2. What ??????????????? Probation for killing a human being ???? This world is really starting to turn upside down. What a shame and such a low blow to the family of the deceased. I hope this Judge can sleep at night after this shameful ruling.
