WALLER CO. VET FACES ANIMAL CRUELTY CHARGES

A Waller County veterinarian has been accused of animal cruelty as a number of horses she owns were seized Friday.

The Waller County District Attorney's Office said Kathie Digilio will be charged after a lengthy investigation. A warrant has been issued for her arrest. The DA said her horses have not been getting the care they need.

Authorities say neighbors had been complaining about the condition of the horses for several years.

Investigators said two of the horses at the home in Hockley were near death.

Volunteers and Waller County Sheriff's deputies began rounding up the horses Friday afternoon. A specialist from Texas A&M was brought in to examine them.

An attorney for Digilio says she's the victim of a neighborhood vendetta, and will turn herself in on Monday.

The horses are being cared for by True Blue Animal Rescue.

  1. I wonder, had this been posted on Facebook, would there be such an uproar as it was over the cat? I think I see a double standard here! It was ONE cat, but way more horses. Where is the outrage? Where is the protests? Where is the outcry for her license? I just don’t get it?
