WASHINGTON CO. CLERK’S OFFICE COMMENDED DURING COMMISSIONERS MEETING

The Washington County Clerk’s Office was commended during the county commissioners meeting today (Tuesday) for outstanding work during the November General Election.

The commissioners presented a letter from the League of Women Voters of Texas, recognizing the clerk’s office for excelling in providing and maintaining accurate and easy to find election information on the Washington County Election website.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel says she was surprised to be honored by the organization, but points to the joint cooperation of many entities- including the office staff, polling volunteers, and leaders of Washington County political parties - that made this past election successful.

Rothermel says she has worked to make more information easily available online for residents:

In other business, the commissioners heard monthly reports from: Washington County 911, Washington County EMS, Information Technology, and the Veterans Service Officer.

The commissioners also heard the Washington County Sheriff’s annual report for 2016, in addition to the sheriff’s monthly report.
