WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

The Washington County Commissioners Court will meet on Tuesday to discuss declaring September 2016 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Washington County.

Families, caregivers, charities and research groups across the United States observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The objective of the awareness month is to put a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children, survivorship issues, and – importantly – to help raise funds for research and family support.

The Commissioners will also discuss the purchase of an ambulance chassis; act upon the approval of an Intern for the Environmental Department; discuss the approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between Washington County and the Texas AgriLife Extension Service concerning information technology services; and act upon the non-exclusive license and service agreement between Local Government Solutions, L.P. and Washington County.

The Commissioners will also hear a presentation by the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau about its third quarter report for April-June of 2016.

The Washington County Commissioners Court will meet on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Court House Chambers #103 in Brenham.
