The County Treasurer’s and County Auditor’s offices have received the 2014 Platinum Leadership Circle Award for financial transparency, presented by the Texas Comptroller’s Office.

County Judge John Brieden says the state has made a major push to be more transparent and insuring that financial information is easily accessible to the public…

Commissioners will also address the county’s group medical insurance.

Brieden says the county will see a 6.7-percent increase in its medical coverage.  One option would be to change the county’s group plan—but Breiden says under the Affordable Care Act, they would not be grand-fathering in certain aspects…

The commissioners are also expected to approve authority for the EMS to enter into an Employee Transition Stipend Agreement for new employees.

They will also hold a public hearing, followed by a vote on installing signs that read “No Thru Trucks” in the Bluebonnet Hills subdivision.

The signs would be placed on Bluebonnet Blvd. and Chappell Gate.

The meeting is set for 9:00 Tuesday morning in the Washington County Courthouse.
