WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REJECT SEAL COATING BIDS DUE TO IRREGULARITY

  

The Washington County Commissioners rejected the County Engineer’s recommended annual bid for Seal Coating for the Road and Bridge Department during their meeting this morning (Tuesday). Don Werth with the Road and Bridge Department explained the need to reject the current bids and reopen advertisements.

         

 

They will open bids on April 11th and award a contract the following day on April 12th.

The Washington County Fairgrounds management board recommended a few revisions to their policy and procedures that were approved as well as their facility use agreement with Washington County and contracts for a concession, a baby shower/baptism, and a book sale.

Also approved during the meeting, a formal notice of a proposed buried utility line for Industry Telephone Company on Sandtown Road in Precinct 4 and authority for the Sheriff’s Office to apply for a $7,200 grant for safety equipment for their Tactical Response Group.

Accounts Payable was approved followed by simple presentations of many monthly reports including: the district and county clerks, Justices of the Peace, Auditor, Tax Assessor/Collector, Treasurer, Constables, Fairgrounds Management, and the Emergency Management Coordinator.
