WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS BURN BAN

A possible burn ban in Washington County will be discusses Tuesday morning at the next meeting of the Washington County Commissioners Court.

FIRE IN LONGPOINT
A grass fire burned over 25 acres near Burton, Thursday.

County fire departments responded to three grass fire calls Thursday – including one near Burton that burned over 25 acres, and three more calls on Friday.

Earlier this week, five of the county’s rural fire chiefs said a possible burn ban needed to be addressed by the commissioners.

Also on Tuesday morning’s agenda, the commissioners will discuss an agreement with PERCOM Online Inc. and Kilgore College for online internship training for EMS paramedic students.

The commissioners’ court will also hear monthly reports from: the District Clerk, County Clerk, Justices of the Peace, Auditor, Tax Assessor/Collector, Treasurer, Constables, Fairgrounds Managemen and EMS Coordinator.

Commissioners will meet at the courthouse annex across the street from the courthouse at 9 a.m., Tuesday.  The meeting location at the annex is because of a misprint of the location on the official agenda that was released Friday of last week.

  1. Thought Blinn College had a EMS program , why is the County seeking training from another community college ?
