WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL WORK ON GETTING ROADWORK GRANT

Washington County Judge John Brieden says the county is in line for even more money under a Texas Department of Transportation grant to help counties repair roads damaged during oil and gas drilling.

Briden says because some counties have not gone after the grants, more is available for Washington County.  He says the county went after some $283,000 in grants but now the amount is $341,000.

The Judge says however, there is work to do and that’s a major item before the County Commissioners when they meet Tuesday at the courthouse.

The grant comes from the Transportation Infrastructure Fund.  The County Commissioners need to submit for the application for a review by TxDot.

They will then need to get an updated list of TxDot projects and then authorizing  the procurement of materials and construction equipment.

The Washington County Commissioners meet Tuesday morning at nine at the courthouse.
