WASHINGTON COUNTY FARM BUREAU WINS STATE AWARDS

  

The Washington County Farm Bureau won several awards at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Texas Farm Bureau held in Corpus Christi.

Russell Boening of Wilson County was elected the new State President, replacing Kenneth Dierschke who was president for 12 years.  Boening operates a diversified family farm and ranch in Southwestern Wilson County, 40 miles south of San Antonio. They have dairy, beef cattle herd, corn, grain sorghum, cotton, wheat, watermelon and oats.

Washington County was named the first place Most Outstanding County Farm Bureau in Dist. 11, Superior Public Relations Award in the Large Division and the County Secretaries won first place in the Secretary Rewards program.

Edith Dickschat of Washington was named one of the top 25 Longest Tenure Members in the State with 68 years of continuous membership.

Larry Winkelmann of Burton was elected alternate delegate to the AFBF convention.
