WASHINGTON COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION TO BE HONORED

  

Washington County Judge John Brieden says that while the county is a ‘gold mine’ of history, that history needs to be recorded, managed and preserved.

For the past 20 years nobody has done this better than the Washington County Historical Commission under the leadership of Dr. Wilfred Dietrich.  That’s why Judge Brieden says, they will recognize the local commission for its recognition from the Texas Historical Commission for Distinguished Service.

The Texas Historical Commission has given this award to the Washington County Commission for 20 consecutive years.

The Washington County Commissioners will also act on adopting a economic development plan during Tuesday’s meeting.

The Washington County Commissioners meet Tuesday morning at nine at the courthouse.
