WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE EMPLOYEE BALLARD RECEIVED DPS COMMENDATION

A Washington County Sheriff Office employee has received a commendation from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program.

Becky Ballard, assigned as the Patrol/CID Administrative Assistant, has been commended for her actions in maintaining excellent records for the completion and submission of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office’s Uniform Crime Report.

Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak said in a Monday press release that during 2015 Ballard displayed an exceptional proficiency in the conduct of her duties, exceeding the state average by not only completing and submitting the required documents without a single delinquent month, but doing so with absolute accuracy.

The Uniform Crime Reporting Program, now administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, requires that Ballard exercise both patience and attention to detail in order to classify criminal behavior known to the Sheriff’s Office from a list of uniform federal definitions of Criminal offenses.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reconciles every report with the federal guidelines.

According to Sheriff Hanak, Ballard’s ability to perform this particular task with complete accuracy is a monumental accomplishment and demonstrates her professional service to the citizens of Washington County.

Becky Ballard has been an employee of the Washington County Sheriff's Office for nearly 7 years.

  1. Congratulations Becky. You’ve always been an excellent customer service person. I still remember your attitude of friendliness and courtesy towards the customers when you were employed with Dairy Bar. Great job.
