WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT TWO ARRESTED FOR AREA BURGLARIES

Two Brazos County men have been arrested, solving several burglaries in the area.

According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, and with the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigative Division, on October 28 deputies responded to a burglary in progress. Dispatch was informed of a barn being burglarized and just prior to their arrival at 3:38 am deputies encountered a vehicle traveling north on Old Landua Road.  When the deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the occupants led Deputies on a chase through several counties.

During the investigation of the barn burglary it was discovered that the suspects were responsible for several other burglaries in the area on the same night.  Criminal investigators later identified suspects as 27 year old Cory James Middleton and 25 year old Justin Michael Doty, both residents of Brazos County.

Warrants were issued and executed after Middleton was charged with Burglary of a Building and Evading Arrest and Detention with a Motor Vehicle, and with a previous conviction.  A warrant was also issued and executed on Doty after being charged with Burglary of a Building.

Both Middleton and Doty were found to be incarcerated in Grimes County on similar charges and upon disposition of charges in Grimes County, both suspects will be transferred to the Washington County jail.
