Also approved was the appointment of Election Judges for the December 6th Special Election. County Clerk Beth Rothermel noted that most of the election judges being appointed had already been judged before, and the others had been clerks, so all were highly qualified for the position.

Also given was a presentation by Kara Matheney, County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources with the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service.  Matheney discussed how well the Cow/Calf Clinic went, noting that they had the biggest crowd in ten years and fed over 200 people, and that she hoped to continue this into the future.  The commissioners commended Matheney for the wonderful job she was doing.

Commissioners also approved to submit to the City of Brenham the remaining balance of Hotel Occupancy Tax funds collected by Washington County during the Couty’s 2013 fiscal year and which are to be applied to the HOT Board’s 2014-2015 budget.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel wants to remind everyone who is mailing in a ballot for the special election to do it as soon as possible, as they are due by November 26th.
