WATERMELON RUN FOR THE FALLEN THIS WEEKEND

The Watermelon Run for the Fallen is set for this Saturday, August 20th.

The event is held every year to remember each individual who gave his or her life serving America in Iraq and Afghanistan. Participants are asked to walk or run a mile in memory of a fallen soldier. If participants don’t personally know one of the fallen, they will be introduced to a fallen hero during registration.

Every participant that donates $30 for entry, will receive a shirt tag with the name of the military member for whom they will be memorializing in the run. If participants are unable to attend the run, they may register to be a part of the event in order to pay their respects.

The Watermelon Run for the Fallen is held in loving memory of SSG Jeffery Lee Hartley. For more information and to register, visit www.watermenlonrftf.org.

  1. What an awesome event! Way to many people take freedom for granted! We must never forget the sacrifices our military has made with there lives! I am so thankful for every military person that has served this country! If it were not for them we would be living in horrible conditions like so many countries are! I pray that America will turn to God now and pray for our military everyday! We do not want government or other countries controlling us and telling us how to live! Pray for America everyday that we don’t lose our freedoms!
