WCHLA NO LONGER ASSOCIATED WITH RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Washington County Healthy Living Association executive director Toy Kurtz has announced that it has dissolved its ties with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Southeast Texas.

Kurtz cites the reason for the disassociation was the RSVP asking for an increasing amount of information from the WCHLA.

Kurtz says the latest request for information included wanting to know the number of home-delivered meals WCHLA was delivering, as well as wanting to know the number of persons served by RSVP volunteers, as well as the clients’ outcomes on an annual basis, and decided at that point to cut ties with RSVP of Southeast Texas.

RSVP indicated that it needed that information to continue funding the grant.

Kurtz said that the RSVP was disorganized, and had lost information several times, and that the WCHLA only had two paid employees and they were overburdened obtaining the information the RSVP was requesting.

The WCHLA has close to 70 active volunteers.

  1. I have always heard there are three sides to a story yours, mine and the truth! Needless to say, why would they be “overburdened” by providing information that should of been in an excel sheet on a daily or weekly basis anyway? Something just does sound to kosher with me! If RSVP are the ones providng financial assistance – provide the information….that’s it case closed. ESPECIALLY if you care about the people you are serving food too. How many times have I sent information out and it gets mishandled, so what do I do…KEEP SENDING IT UNTIL THEY CONFIRM RECEIPT.

  2. God Bless the WCHLA. I regret not being able to play for them any longer, since moving from Washington County, to McQueeney TX.
