WEINSCHENK NAMED ASC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Former Brenham Cub and current Concordia University senior Scott Weinschenk has been named American Southwest Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Weinschenk, who earned the third weekly award of his career from the conference office, started last Friday's game against Ozrarks College and combined on a three-hit shutout, allowing just two hits and struck out nine in seven innings of work. He also picked off two runners at first base.

Weinschenk is 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA in three appearances, including a pair of starts this season. He’s struck out a team-high 17 batters in 12.2 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .234 batting average.
