WHERE IS DELLA THIS MONTH IN WASHINGTON COUNTY
Each month, the Washington County Visitors Bureau is featuring a photo of Della the German Shepard at a different location in the county. The trick is to guess where Della is. Last month, Mark Kmiec correctly guessed that Della was visiting the Independence Log House that is part of the remnants of the Coles Settlement in Independence. John P. Coles was one of the original “Old 300” and founded Coles Settlement in what is now Independence. The Independence Historical Society offers free tours of the log home and Coles Cabin, as well as the Mound Hill Schoolhouse also in Old Baylor Park. The tours will take place March 24th and 31st, and April 7th and 14th.
This month’s photo features Della visiting a permanent reminder of spring time in Washington County. If you think you know where Della is, you can enter the contest by emailing your answer, name, and phone number to Della@BrenhamTexas.com by March 31st. The next winner will be drawn from the correct guesses on April 1st.
