‘WHITE LIVES MATTER’ RALLY CANCELLED BY A&M OFFICIALS

The White Lives Matter rally planned for September 11th on the Texas A&M campus has been canceled by Chancellor John Sharp due to safety concerns.

According to A&M officials, consultation with law enforcement and considerable study, led them to cancel the event scheduled by Preston Wiginton at Rudder Plaza on campus on September 11 due to concerns about the safety of its students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Texas A&M changed its policy after December’s protests so that no outside individual or group could reserve campus facilities without the sponsorship of a university-sanctioned group.

The press release goes on to say, “none of the 1200-plus campus organizations invited Preston Wiginton nor did they agree to sponsor his events in December 2016 or on September 11.”

With no university facilities afforded him, he chose instead to plan his event outdoors for September 11 at Rudder Plaza, with a notification to the media under the headline “Today Charlottesville, Tomorrow Texas A&M.”

A&M officials say, linking the tragedy of Charlottesville with the Texas A&M event creates a major security risk on campus. Additionally, the daylong event would provide disruption to the class schedules and to student, faculty and staff movement.

  1. Thank you to A&M Chancellor John Sharp for stopping the planned “White Lives matter” rally! The time is NOW for those of us who abhor the violence and terrorism spread by these organizations to put a stop this evil rhetoric. My daughter and son-in-law are alumni of Texas A&M and even though they have both moved on to successful careers, I am thankful that you have taken the stand to protect the students who are working hard to become productive citizens and members of society.

  2. why was it ok to have black lives matter rallies but everyone gets into a panic about what other races will think or do when someone wants to have a white lives matter rally I thought we all have the same rights.I HAVE TO AGREE with our president people are too wrapped up in trying to be politically correct
