Brenham rallied in the top of the seventh inning, to send to the game to the bottom of the seventh tied at two.

Down to the last at bat, Maddie Weatherly opened the inning with a double, followed by an rbi-double by Annie Cangelosi.  Cangelosi then scored on a throwing error that left runners at second and third with no outs.

Winning pitcher Casey Dixon then struck out the side to shut the door on the Cubettes’ rally.

In the bottom of the seventh, Sara Brooks delivered a one-out single.  After a bunt moved pinch runner Adaja Kizzie to second, Parker delivered the game-winning single—her third hit of the night, ending the game.

Parker had given the Lady Kats a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning with a solo home run.

Dixon, meanwhile, handcuffed the Brenham hitters, striking out 15 Cubettes while surrendering only three hits on the night.

Meg Morris took the loss for the Cubettes, yielding three runs on seven hits and striking out four.

The Cubettes will host Huntsville Friday night in district play.  First pitch is set for 7:00.

The game can be heard beginning with the pre-game show at 6:40 on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
