WOLF CREEK BRIDGE WORK TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK

Storm damage from Hurricane Harvey has been repaired on the Wolf Creek Bridge on Highway 36, and work to repair damage from last year’s flood will begin next week.

According to Bobby Colwell of TxDOT, workers are scheduled to begin removing the old bridge, Monday, September 11th.  Work to replace the north-bound bridge at Wolf Creek will start next week.

The bridge has been reopened to two lanes after the damage from Harvey was repaired.

According to Colwell, pilings underneath the Wolf Creek Bridge were heavily damaged by flooding in May 2016, as debris was swept down the creek.

Colwell says the project should take about five months.

The project is expected to be completed in spring of 2018.
