WOLFSKILL/LEMAN HEAD TOWARD TUESDAY’S SHOWDOWN

Time is winding down towards Election Day in the runoff for the Republican nomination for the District-13 State Representative race.

Early voting is going on presently in the runoff between Jill Wolfskill and Ben Leman for the right to face Democrat Cecil Webster in the November Election.

Jill Wolfskill, a businesswoman from Austin County, says she is very optimistic about Tuesday’s vote…

Leman, the former Grimes County Judge, says he’s very pleased with the race…

As to what has become the overwhelming negative nature of this race, Wolfskill says people must be made aware of the differences between the two candidates…

Leman says this race boils down to ‘Results versus Rhetoric”…

The winner of this race will also take over the District 13 seat until January, filling in for Leighton Schubert—who stepped down to take a post at Blinn College.

Both candidates agreed that the loser of Tuesday’s vote will then bow out of the special election to fill the remainder of Schubert’s current term.
