A Brenham woman faces a DWI charge after her arrest just past midnight.
Tuesday morning, just before 12:30, Sgt. Curtiss Schoen stopped to check on a vehicle parked facing traffic with the motor running in the 1700 block of Key St.
The driver—identified as 62-year old Mary Martinez Schultz of Brenham, said she was dropping her friend off.
Schoen says that while speaking with Schultz, he could smell the strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and noted the driver had slow, slurred speech.
Schultz was reportedly unable to perform a field sobriety test and was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated – with over a .15 blood level.
